Difficult participants?

Describe a participant role that you have encountered repeatedly in focus groups.

In rural contexts, especially regarding youth and women’s involvement. These can be addressed by creating mixed focus groups, encouraging written reflections before discussion, and using facilitation strategies that increased confidence and equal participation.

Participants with an agenda that bring up the same issues over and over again that may not be relevant to others. Participants who speak over others or intimidate others. Participants who feel unsafe or afraid to speak. How do you deal with these kinds of participants?
